And only through arduous and constant training that it becomes possible to master this rich set of techniques and theories.

Traditional Kung Fu training has several different exercises, to make the body stronger and more flexible, and respiratory exercises. The techniques are performed with empty hands or weapons. The training also includes 2-men forms and sparring with protection gear.

Kung Fu has more than 300 different styles, so it is probably the more complex, sophisticated and fascinating martial art in the world.
According to legends, the Northern Praying Mantis style (Bak Tong Long Pai) was created about 350 years ago by Wong Long, who after watching a fight between a praying mantis and a cicada, developed fighting techniques based on the behavior of the mantis. Later on, he added techniques from another styles, making itt even more efficient.

Since then, several Praying Mantis sub-styles had appeared, like Chat Sing, Moy Fa, Tai Gik, and others. The Wah Lum system incorporates the techniques from the Jut Sow Tong Long style.
